Mr. Antonio Urrabazo, M.Ed. is proud to be a K-5th Reading/Math Literacy Interventionist at Raquel Cavazos Elementary School. Since 2019, he plans and models TEKS-aligned lessons with teachers, analyzes student achievement data collaboratively with campus staff and administration, and teaches and tutors students in various grade levels. Mr. Urrabazo’s philosophy of teaching is based on an urgency to provide teachers and students with high engagement instructional and assessment strategies to increase the achievement of all students equitably. Previously, he assisted teachers and students as an Elementary Academic Math Coach at four Mission CISD campuses. Mr. Urrabazo earned two master’s degrees from The University of Texas-Pan American in educational leadership and elementary curriculum and instruction, and he holds current principal, elementary, and bilingual educator certificates. He has over 20 years’ educational experience in the Rio Grande Valley, and he has presented at local, regional, and state conferences. Mr. Urrabazo enjoys exercising and reading, and he wants students to know that both can be fun lifelong hobbies!
